Peace and comfort in a lovely part of Sandwick, in the Shetland Isles.

Our traditional cottage has been in the family for well over 200 years (but has been redecorated several times over the years!) It is situated on a croft in a quiet corner of the village of Sandwick, roughly half-way between Sumburgh Airport and Lerwick, where the ferries arrive from the mainland.

The cottage has a double and a twin attic bedrooms, with a camp bed and cot if needed. The kitchen has a cooker, microwave, fridge and washing machine, and the cosy sitting room has Freeview TV. There is also a toilet and shower room. Crockery, towels and bedding are all provided.

Nearby amenities include the district swimming pool, general merchant’s shop with bakery and post office, and Sandwick Social Club with guest membership for visitors. The Orca Country Inn and Visitor Centre in Hoswick serve food daily. Also in Sandwick is the ferry departure for the island of Mousa, with it's legendary broch. We even have a friendly local garage, in case the joys of motoring don’t quite last!Beach

Within a few minutes stroll of the cottage is a clean, safe sandy beach, and the area offers the chance of viewing seabirds, seals and even otters (for the patient and lucky people).

With good road links, Sandwick is handy for attractions such as Jarlshof, Sumburgh Head and the Old Scatness excavations — and of course the rest of Shetland.
